Tim Edey has been one of the most busiest multi-instrumentalists on the folk and Irish music scene around both Ireland and Europe.

He made his first solo album at the age of seventeen, with legendary Australian-Irish guitarist and producer Steve Cooney, and his composition Little Bird was recorded by Sharon Shannon on her double-platinum selling collection album.

Artists Tim Edey has toured or recorded with include Lunasa, Sharon Shannon, Mary Black, Seamus Begley, Anam, Wolfstone, Isobel Crowe, Pete Gazey, Michael McGoldrick, Dezi Donnelly, Frankie Gavin, Julie Fowlis, Charlie McKerron, Capercaillie, Altan and Session A9.

'Collective' musicians on this album alongside Tim (who plays accordeon, guitars, upright bass, keyboards, piano, strings, percussion, vocals) include Brendan Power (harmonica), Lucy Randall (percussion), Ross Ainslie (low whistles, cittern), Sharon Shannon (accordeon, low whistle), Winnie Horan of Solas (strings), Isobel Crowe (vocals), Jon Sanders (acoustic guitar) and Dimitris Michailidis (Greek bouzouki).

"If that's not good stuff, I don't know what is..." (Mike Harding BBC, Radio Two)

"Tim Edey is an incredibly gifted and talented musician..." (Sharon Shannon)

"On a comparable stage I'd say he sits comfortably between Donal Lunny and Steve Cooney - yes, he's that good!" (Pete Fyfe, Folking.com)

"Many adjectives have been used to praise Tim Edey's prowess as a musician and more often than not the word 'multi' precedes them... Each track on The Collective is a mini-performance within itself and evokes swift emotive changes in tandem with a technical dexterity that is second to none. Talent oozes from every aspect and nuance of this album from the composition to the musicianship to the vocals and the common thread in all of these is Edey himself. Highly recommended."
