Fourth album from the rockin' modern pipes and drums band - The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have been rocking all over the world, with outstanding musicianship and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. And a show so hot it carries its own health warning.
This album features 'Bagrock' cover versions of classic tracks including Radio Ga Ga (Queen), Baba O'Reilly (The Who), Let Me Entertain You (Robbie Williams) and Long Way To The Top (AC/DC). The Chillis' version of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars has been going down a storm in America where the band has been touring in 2010.
The Chilli Pipers also incorporate gospel and dance into their melting pot of sound, through the likes of Everybody Dance Now and a version of Amazing Grace featuring members of Glasgow's Gospel Truth Choir.
The Chillis came storming on to the scene after winning Graham Norton's BBC1 TV series When Will I Be Famous? With their powerful style they have moved the bagpipes into new and adventurous areas, re-interpreting famous tracks by the likes of Queen, Survivor, John Farnham, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Status Quo, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Coldplay in their very own Chilli Piper way.
The Chillis have performed to hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world, from A-list celebrity parties to T In The Park and the Chiang Mai Rock Festival (Thailand), and loved every minute of it. They have been joined on stage by Ewan McGregor, played for Sir Paul McCartney, headlined New York's Tartan Week, opened the Eurovision Dance Contest (in front of a TV audience of millions) and were one of the first Western bands to perform in Saudi Arabia.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are Stuart Cassells (Highland bagpipes, Red Pipes), Gordon 'Dougie' McCance (Highland bagpipes), Kevin MacDonald (Highland bagpipes), Kyle Warren (Highland bagpipes), Stevie Lawrence (bouzouki, acoustic guitar, percussion), Chris Russell (piano, Hammond, keyboards), Steven Black (drumkit), Steven Graham (snare drum, percussion) and Malcolm McEwan (djembe, marching toms, Handsonic).
Also featuring Lorne MacDougall (Highland bagpipes, whistles), Barry Caulfield of Skerryvore (bass guitar), Ben Holloway (electric guitar), Gregor McPhie (electric guitar, bass, synthesizer), Leon Thorne (saxophone), Chris Pugh (trombone), Douglas West (trumpet), Chris Judge (vocals), Madeleine Pritchard (vocals), Foss Paterson (keyboards) and Garry O'Hagan (keyboards).
