The Story is the fourteenth studio album by the superb Scottish rock band Runrig and concludes a remarkable career.
This album has particular significance as it is Runrig's last studio album, for over forty years they have brought their own unique style of traditional music fused with contemporary influences to so many.
Glad to report that Runrig have planned a sizeable UK and Europe-wide tour 2016.
This including an iconic Edinburgh Castle summer concert along with headlining the fantastic 21st HebCelt Festival on the Isle of Lewis.
Trailblazers for all things Scottish, it is sad that their musical journey is almost at an end... however, this album captures the true essence of their work.
Celebrate their tremendous achievement with this special Runrig release!
Includes a beautifully presented 32 page booklet with lyrics, Gaelic transalations where applicable and many stories and pictures.
"The best observations are often made from the outside looking in, and it was in 1954 that legendary American photographer, Paul Strand, took his lens to the Hebridean island of South Uist. He captured for posterity a people and a culture in the charm of its being and in the heartbeat of its survival. The images told the universal story of the tribe and the big culture, and now that time has moved on, we can look back through our own lenses to view that most remarkable of times and a century that has defined us all. We all have our story and the years we shared." (Runrig)
