Traditional fiddle from the Isle of Skye - Ronan Martin's debut album is a fresh and dynamic recording which captures the spirit of West Highland fiddle.

Featuring Jonny Hardie of Old Blind Dogs on guitar.

The album was recorded live at Jonny's family home in Strathdon, with the aim of capturing the energy of the Highland fiddle and the atmosphere of the historic surroundings.

It includes many bagpipe tunes and Gaelic songs from the tradition, and there are extensive sleeve notes containing stories and background information.

"Brought up in a musical family in Easter Ross and Skye and with a fiddle in his hands by the age of three, it's no surprise that Ronan became one of Scotland's finest fiddlers. Unpretentious and never rushed, he plays the classic dance music of the north and west with toe-tapping energy and considerable finesse... These strathspeys, marches, reels, jigs and smattering of slow airs are brimful of character." (Scotland on Sunday)
