Debut album from this outstanding fiddle player who won his first fiddle competition at the age of twelve.
He toured Scotland the following year with the band Tantallon. Born in Tasmania, with a strong Scottish heritage, Malcolm grew up listening to the traditional music of Scotland and Ireland through his parents' playing and recordings.
After moving to Newcastle Upon Tyne at the age of16, he joined Folkestra, a young folk ensemble directed by Kathryn Tickell. He performed with them at venues around the UK including the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and toured Spain.
Malcolm studied Traditional Music and Gaelic at Lews Castle College on the Island of Benbecula in the Western Isles and is now regarded as one of the finest young fiddle players on the folk scene.
He has played as support act for Scottish based trio Lau, played at Dougie McLean's Perthshire Amber Festival and at Celtic Connections.
In 2010 he was a semi-finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. He is currently playing with Scottish based singer Darcy DaSilva and also performs with Scottish singer/guitarist Norman Stewart.
