Composer Donald Shaw and Natural History producer Nigel Pope have been recently collaborating on Hebrides - Islands on the Edge, a landmark wildlife series for BBC Scotland. The four-part series was made over the course of three years and features some of Scotland's most remote landscapes and iconic creatures. The series is narrated by Ewan McGregor.

The album features orchestral arrangements composed by Donald, along with first class musicians from the traditional music scene resulting in beautiful atmospheric Celtic music.

Donald Shaw is one of Scotland's top musicians, composers and producers.

Brought up in Taynuilt, Argyll, the Shaw family were at the heart of a vibrant Gaelic song and traditional music scene. Although Donald was introduced to all styles of music from an early age his love of roots music became obvious when he co-founded Capercaillie. This year marks Capercaillie's 30th Anniversary Year.
