2021 is the Greentrax Recordings 35th Anniversary and this re-release 'Music And Song Of Scotland' celebrates the occasion in style.

Launched in 1986 by Ian Green, Greentrax Recordings has much to celebrate. They have released almost five hundred albums since the company was formed.

Over the years Greentrax has given so many talented Scottish musicians and singers the opportunity to be heard and establish themselves on the world's stage.

A bonus track has been added to the original release: Ceolbeg (The Sleeping Tune), in memory of the late, hugely talented piper and composer Gordon Duncan. This is one of his many masterpieces and played here by Ceolbeg, a favourite Greentrax band over many years.

The album cover is sunset over Linlithgow Palace and loch, where Mary Queen of Scots was born.

Album re-mastered by Peter Haigh, Pier House Studios, Edinburgh.

"This compilation was first released in 1989 as a showcase for the then fledgling Greentrax label, and has gone on to be a Greentrax Recordings' best-seller. It is also a sample of the very best of Scottish music and song as well as a showcase of the recordings available from Greentrax recordings at that time. " Ian Green, Managing Director.
